Green Behaviors Start by Abandoning 1-time Use Items
Data released by the Environmental Protection Agency shows that somewhere between 500 billion and a trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year. Less than 1% of bags are recycled, and it costs more to recycle a bag than to produce a new one.
It is governments’ intention to phase-out the light weight plastic bags used by many retailers today. Governments around the world are working in conjunction with retailers to phase-out 1-time use plastic bags.

Production Process
Following are the standard production processes when manufacturing bags. Polyester raw material is purchased and sent to dyeing factory to dye as color requested. The minimum amount of dyeing fabrics required per each time is 500 yards. If the fabrics needed are less than this amount, the factory will purchase the existing dyed fabrics on the market to match your chosen Pantone color. Usually, the dyeing process takes from 10 to 15 days, and the entire bag production process takes up to 30 days.

Quality Standards
For textiles with colors, it is sometimes required to pass the AZO free test. Why? AZO dyes and pigments are commonly used to color textiles and plastics. Some of the by-products, such as chlorinated aromatic amines, are toxic and may be potential carcinogens. The European Commission has recently passed directive 76/769EEC, which bans the usage of certain AZO dyes for use in any textile or leather product which may come in “direct or prolonged” contact with the skin or mouth. Also, AZO dyes and pigments resist biodegradation under aerobic conditions, so they are difficult to remove from an ecosystem..
